Valdosta Rocks!

By Cadlynne Dovel, Administrator of Valdosta Rocks! August 14, 2017

To me, there had to be something more out there for kindness and a way to get people together for the good of just getting out and being happy. As a child (and even now), nothing excited me more than getting a present and that's how I feel about finding a rock. Personally, I saw PSL Rocks in my hometown and knew immediately it was just what Valdosta needed! A little color, a little fun, and nobody ever complained about a little extra happiness.

This all originated from the Kindness Rocks Project, so no one group can say they actually "created" it. From their website directly... "The Kindness Rocks Project was created to spread inspiration and a moment of kindness for unsuspecting recipients through random inspirational rocks dropped along the way." At any age, finding something like this may just be that smile that they haven't been able to crack all day.

With Valdosta Rocks, my personal favorites are the ones with quotes on them, or the ones showing awareness for something. There have been rocks ranging from Autism Awareness, to breast cancer and I think that's special for a lot of families. 6 months ago, I created this group with no idea how big it would get. Within about a week we had around 300 members and that's when I knew this group would get BIG. I haven't done much in my life, but just opening the doors for Valdosta and surrounding cities to get the idea flowing has really outdone any expectations I had. I hope this group never dies down and continues to bring happiness to those who least expect it and those who need it.
