Let's help those affected by recent hurricanes on September 20, 2017

By Stephanie Pichardo, Publisher of Macaroni Kid Valdosta September 14, 2017

**Update 9/18/17 Texas has received an overwhelming amount of support and donations! They actually returned some of the items that were donated. All of the donations that we will collect on Wednesday will go to Florida Baptist Children's Home. - Stephanie Pichardo

I am currently writing this article sitting at my friend's house since we will be without electricity and water for several more days. Luckily, we are in an area that has access to food, water, and our baby needs. Hurricanes can be devastating to many people in many ways. Families across the south are currently without electricity and water because of Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Harvey is still affecting many in Texas.

Macaroni Kid Thomasville and Valdosta want to help! On September 20th we will be at Yoburst Frozen Yogurt and Deli in Thomasville from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm to collect donations for the families and foster children affected by the recent hurricanes. Items donated will be delivered to Hand-In-Hand Primary School to be taken to Texas and Florida Baptist Children's Home in Tallahassee to help the foster children in need.

What's in it for you? When you donate an item, you will get a chance at our prize wheel, 15% off Yoburst products, and the satisfaction of helping our country in a time of need! We will also have an area set up for Kindness Rock painting!
